Keeping New Jump Park Cool : A Supplier's Take
I'm a supplier for New Jump Park, so I've spent a fair amount of time poking around their HVAC setup, scratching my head over sensors, and watching kids bounce until they're red in the face. Turns out, keeping a trampoline park comfortable is trickier than you'd think.
Why temperature even matters in a bounce-fest
Look, when you've got dozens of people jumping, flipping, and racing each other across trampolines, they generate a *lot* of body heat. I mean a lot. If you don't manage that, the place turns into a sweaty mess within an hour. And that's not just gross-it's risky. Too hot and people get dizzy, tired, or worse. Too cold? Muscles stiffen up, and next thing you know someone lands funny and gets hurt.
So yeah, getting the temperature right isn't about luxury. It's about safety and keeping the fun going.
What messes with the temp (besides the jumpers)
Obviously the crowd is the biggest factor. A packed Saturday birthday party? You can feel the heat rise the second you walk in. But it's not just bodies. The trampolines themselves-well, the friction and constant movement add a little. Then there's the arcade machines, the lights, the sound system… all of them dump heat into the space. Even the ventilation fans moving air around can mess with how the temperature feels from one corner to another.
How we actually keep it under control
New Jump Park runs a system that's constantly checking itself. Sensors scattered around the place track temp, humidity, even air quality. That data feeds into a central controller that yells at the AC units and fans to speed up or slow down.
The ACs are the real workhorses. They pull heat and moisture out of the air. But placement is everything-you can't just stick one big unit in a corner and call it done. We've got multiple units spread around so the cooling is even. Meanwhile the ventilation keeps fresh air coming in, so you don't get that stale, heavy feeling.
The system adjusts constantly-especially when a new wave of jumpers comes in or the afternoon sun starts hammering the windows.


What's the "perfect" numbers?
I get asked this a lot. For a trampoline park, aim for 68–72°F (20–22°C) and humidity around 40–60%. That range keeps most people comfortable without making the trampoline mats feel sticky or slippery. Too dry and people start coughing; too damp and the bounce surfaces get sketchy. We learned that one the hard way.
And yeah, the system works harder in summer. Sometimes it feels like the AC is running nonstop from noon to closing. Winter's easier, though on really cold days we actually need a little heat to keep things in that sweet spot.
Trying not to waste energy
Here's something people don't expect: the park actually cares about energy efficiency. Not just for the environment-though that's nice-but because running massive AC units 12 hours a day gets expensive fast.
So the system uses variable-speed compressors. Instead of just blasting full power or shutting off, they ramp up and down based on real demand. The ventilation also recovers heat from the exhaust air to warm up incoming fresh air. Clever, right? Saves money and keeps the place comfortable.
What visitors notice
When the temp is right, nobody thinks about it. They just bounce, laugh, and wear themselves out. That's the goal. If someone walks in and says "wow, it feels great in here," that's a win. But if they start complaining about being sweaty or cold, we've screwed up.
I've seen parks lose business because they ignored climate control. People leave early, they don't come back, and word spreads fast. On the flip side, New Jump Park gets families staying longer and booking more parties because it's simply comfortable.
My part as the supplier
My job isn't just dropping off equipment and disappearing. I work with their team to figure out what they actually need-not what some sales brochure says. Then I help install it, train their staff on the basic controls (what to look for, when to call me), and come running when something breaks.
Because stuff does break. Sensors fail. Filters clog. A kid throws a sock into a vent. I keep spare parts on hand so downtime is measured in hours, not days.
What's next?
Trampoline parks aren't going away. If anything, they're getting bigger and crazier. I think we'll see smarter systems soon-ones that predict crowd sizes based on reservations or time of day, and adjust cooling before the place even gets hot. Maybe tie it into lighting and booking systems. That's the dream anyway.
